It's that time of year again. Time to collect elderberries for fever and cough syrup. Also time to make apple sauce for the store cupboard. I have no apple trees in our new home so I will have to go begging to friends, I'm sure they won't mind. No black currant jam either but one of my cuttings from my old bush did survive so hopefully next year it will produce some berries. I no longer have a garden just a raised bed so I will have to buy some organic produce for bottling.
