Surprise Visitor
As the days pass and we continue to keep our distance from everyone we know we are luckier than many as we have each other and we have our health. We are still getting to walk each day as we live in a town in the countryside with no shortage of open spaces around us.
Our children and their families each live a long way from us. From an hour and a half drive, two hours drive to an 8 hour flight...so imagine our surprise when someone knocked on our door late last night.
Our daughter in law who works in the health department had been called into work on her day off. She has been working seven days a week for a month now. She keeps the offices of the minister for health working. One of the many unsung background workers. On her way home she went shopping for us and made the long journey to us to leave the groceries at our door. She stayed outside the gate as she spoke to us and it was the weirdest thing not to bring her in and put the kettle on... she is our first visitor in a month.. so grateful to her for her kindness and to talk to someone else in person.
We are so lucky to have our phones and computers and social media but you do miss the face to face contact.
Here in Ireland we are at the early stage of this pandemic and many people are not taking it seriously enough. Britain has brought in new tighter rules and we will follow as we need to have the same restriction as Northern Ireland because of the cross border travel..
Last night Shamanic people from all over the country and the world got together at 8pm and held a virtual drumming circle for healing for the planet an all its inhabitants. We need more positivity to help us through this and the new world that will follow this disease...
